Lucas is a distinguished nonprofit and fundraising consultant, recognized for his outstanding contributions to the philanthropic sector. He has successfully raised tens of millions for a range of charitable causes and educational institutions, establishing domestic and international nonprofit organizations, and managing a diverse array of volunteers across the United States and globally. As a Certified Fund Raising Executive, Lucas is part of an elite group of accredited philanthropic professionals. Lucas has uniquely modernized traditional fundraising methods by integrating cryptocurrency giving and leveraging data trends to innovate marketing campaigns, particularly online. Lucas has successfully filled a variety of roles throughout his career, including those of Executive Director, Director of Major and Planned Giving, Campaign Consultant, and Director of Development. His work was recognized when he was named Nonprofit PRO's Fundraiser of the Year in 2019. He has also served as a Professional Fundraising Coach where he has provided strategic guidance to over 100 nonprofit organizations.
An early adopter of novel fundraising methods, Lucas was one of the first fundraisers to raise over $200,000 in Bitcoin for charity in late 2017 and other nonprofit fundraising initiatives. A graduate of Duke University with a Bachelor's degree in Public Policy Studies and an MBA from Duke's Fuqua School of Business with a Concentration in Social Entrepreneurship. Lucas also possesses a Certificate in Blockchain Strategy from Oxford University.
